How Much Does a Proposal Photographer Cost, and What a Guided Proposal Includes
When people ask me how much a proposal photographer costs, they're usually comparing a few different ways of asking. Some want someone hidden in the bushes with a long lens. Some want a friend with a phone. And some want the whole moment shaped: the place, the words and the photographs afterwards.
I'm Leon, and Where Two Bloom is my guided proposal experience. Here's exactly what it costs, what that figure includes, and how it differs from simply hiring someone to take pictures.
The Price, Plainly
A guided proposal with Where Two Bloom is £695.00. That's the figure on my services page, and it's what you pay for the full experience on the day.
It isn't a day rate for photography alone. It covers the planning beforehand, the love letter we write together, me being there to read it, the photographs and Polaroids afterwards, and the keepsakes that follow. If you're comparing quotes, it's worth checking whether you're looking at a photographer-only fee or something closer to what I offer.
What £695.00 Includes
The live page spells it out, and I'll do the same here.
Guidance: we choose a place and time that suit you, and I scout it beforehand so I know where the light falls and where I'll stand.
A bespoke love letter: you give me the feelings and the memories; we shape them into words that sound like you. On the day I read them aloud to your partner.
Photography and Polaroids: once the letter is finished, the camera comes up for the question, the "yes" and everything that follows. You leave with Polaroids that develop in your hands, tucked inside the letter.
The Love Story Album: your proposal photos become the first chapter of your album, online and printed, so the story can carry on through every experience afterwards.
A free year of the Love Story Registry: your anniversary can be marked with a commemorative letter, imagery from your album and wild flowers.
That's the package. There isn't a hidden menu of extras you have to unlock to get a usable set of photographs.
What the Camera Does, and Doesn't Do
One detail matters more than most people realise. While I'm reading your letter, my camera stays down. I deliberately don't photograph that part. Those words are for your partner alone, and the only way back to them afterwards is through memory and the letter itself.
Everything after the reading is photographed: the knee, the ring, the reactions, the quiet minutes that follow. If you'd like the full shape of the day, my post on what happens on the day of a guided proposal walks through it step by step.
How This Compares to "Just a Photographer"
A photographer-only booking usually means someone arrives, stays out of sight and shoots the moment you ask. That can work beautifully for couples who already have the place, the words and the timing sorted.
A guided proposal is different. I introduce myself, read the letter, then photograph what follows. You're not managing the surprise and the camera angle at the same time. If you're still deciding which model suits you, I've written a separate post on a guided proposal or a hidden photographer.
Where You Can Propose
The location is yours to choose. Couples ask across the whole of North Wales, and further afield if that's where their hearts are: a quiet cove, a favourite walk, a place abroad, or somewhere that only means something to the two of you. The £695.00 figure doesn't change because the view is famous.
What Happens After You Say Yes
Photos are delivered in four weeks. The Polaroids are already in your hands that day. The Love Story Album carries the chapter forward, and if you ever want to continue into an elopement, the path from proposal to ceremony is already there through Leon Bagnall Experiences.
If the price and the inclusions feel right, the next step is simply to get in touch. Tell me roughly when you're thinking of asking, and we'll take it from there.
The figure is straightforward. What it buys is a proposal that sounds like you, looks like you, and leaves you with something to keep.
