Private Proposal Ideas for Couples Who Would Rather Not Have an Audience

Private proposal ideas are for couples who would rather not have strangers clapping, friends hiding in bushes or a phone held up in their face. Some people simply feel most themselves when it is just the two of them.

I'm Leon, an accredited celebrant and photographer based in Llandudno. Many of the couples I work with are private by nature, and their proposals are some of the gentlest I see.

Pick a Place With No Crowd

Quiet does not have to mean remote. Try a weekday evening on a long Anglesey beach such as Newborough, a lakeshore in the Ogwen Valley, a path on the Clwydian Range or a cove on the Llŷn near Aberdaron. Where to propose in Snowdonia has more peaceful options.

Keep the Words Between You

A love letter suits private people because the feelings are written down, so nobody has to perform. I read it aloud to your partner before you ask, and my camera rests at my waist, so the words are never filmed or photographed.

Have Photographs Without an Audience

A guided proposal means one calm person, not a team. Once the letter is put away, I photograph the question and what follows, and Polaroids develop in your hands. The Guided Proposal Ceremony is £695.00 on the live services page.

Private People Often Elope

If you dread being the centre of attention, a big wedding may not suit you either. Your proposal includes 10% off an elopement with Elope with Leon, and eloping just the two of you shows how quiet a wedding can be.

Your Own Corner, Anywhere

Home or garden counts too, as does a special place elsewhere in the UK or abroad. Private is about who is there, not where it is.

The best proposals for private couples are the ones nobody else needs to see. Read how to keep a proposal a secret, then send me a quiet message and we will plan it together.
