How long does it take to plan a proposal? Less time than most people fear, as long as you start with the parts that matter. A few weeks is comfortable for most couples, and a little longer gives you room to breathe.
I'm Leon, an accredited celebrant and proposal photographer based in Llandudno. Here is a realistic timeline for a guided proposal.
Two to Three Months Before
This is a relaxed time to start. You can think about the ring, the place and the season without any pressure, and it leaves space to ask family first if that matters to you.
Six to Eight Weeks Before
A guided proposal follows three simple steps:
Connect: we talk about your love story, your partner and the place you have in mind.
Love Letter: I draft a bespoke letter from everything you share, ready for you to approve.
Delivery: on the day, I read your letter aloud before you ask, in the morning, afternoon or evening.
Two Weeks Before
Check the forecast, the tide times if you are heading to a beach such as Porth Dinllaen, and any travel plans. Have a quiet back-up spot in mind.
The Week Before
Settle on what you will both wear and plan a natural reason to be there. How to keep a proposal a secret has some gentle tips.
Short on Time?
A shorter plan can still work beautifully. A short-notice sunset proposal on Anglesey shows how.
What Is Included
The Guided Proposal Ceremony is £695.00 on the services page, with your Love Letter, photography, Polaroid keepsakes, the first chapter of your Love Story Album and a year of the Love Story Registry.
Anywhere You Choose
You can choose anywhere: your home or garden, elsewhere in the UK, or abroad.
A little planning now means you can simply be present on the day. Get in touch to begin and we will work back from the date you have in mind.
