I'm Leon, an accredited celebrant and proposal photographer based in Llandudno. Dogs are welcome on a guided proposal, so here is how to make it work calmly.
Pick a Dog-Friendly Spot
Choose somewhere your dog already loves. The beach at Llanddona, the woods at Coed y Brenin or the paths around Llyn Brenig all give space to walk without crowds. Check seasonal beach rules before you go, as some beaches restrict dogs in summer.
Keep the Plan Simple
Dogs pick up on nerves. A walk you would normally take, at a time your dog is usually relaxed, keeps everything feeling natural for all three of you.
Give Your Dog a Small Role
A few simple ideas that work well:
A tag on the collar: a message your partner will spot when the dog comes back to you.
A walk to the spot: your dog leads the way, just like any other day.
A place in the photos: sitting at your feet as you kneel.
Bring a Helper if You Need One
If your dog gets excitable, a friend can hold the lead nearby and bring them over once the question is asked.
